Youth Air Cadet Program Key Attributes of the Air Cadet Program Eligibility Requirements

Membership

The Youth Aviation Education program is open to all boys and girls, ages 12 to 17, living in the Sacramento, CA. and surrounding areas.  As the program grows, additional educational venues will be opened at other locations within California.

Youth Air Cadet Program

A major component of the Youth Aviation Academy is the Air Cadet Program.  Youth participate as cadets in the 332nd Air Cadet Squadron.

The 332nd Air Cadet Squadron’s heritage comes from the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. The unit designation is derived from the 332nd Fighter Group under which the flying units of the Tuskegee Airmen, such as the infamous 99th Fighter Squadron, were assigned.

When an organizational sponsor chooses to host the Youth Aviation Academy at their facility, they have the option of adopting the Youth Air Cadet Program as outlined in the YAA Cadet Handbook or implementing only selected portions of the program’s attributes.

“The optional Youth Air Cadet Program provides a more structured environment for accomplishment of our core values.” (select the About Us button at the top of this web page to gain additional information about core values)
